Specialist in Massage Therapy for Horse Riders

Kerry Dawson M.I.C.H.T, M.H.F.S.T

Your First Treatment

At the first treatment session, I will take a detailed medical history and take into account any conditions you may have which could be affected by the treatment.  Once your medical history has been taken and we have discussed your massage requirements, I will then leave the treatment area in order to allow you to position yourself on the massage table.

The massage table will be prepared for you to lie face down upon and two large towels will be positioned in order to allow for you to cover yourself from shoulder to toe.  The towels are used to cover the parts of the body not being worked on at any one time to ensure that your modesty is protected at all times as your modesty is always of paramount importance.  During the massage the towels are turned back to reveal only the area to be massaged at that time.  You are never left totally uncovered.

A full body massage starts with the cleansing of your feet.  I then massage your feet and the back of your legs moving upwards over the buttocks (optional) and small of back before beginning work on your back and shoulders.  I will then ask you to flip over (ensuring that you remain covered at all times) so you are lying on your back and then starting once again at your feet, will proceed to massage the front of your legs, arms and hands, abdomen (optional), upper chest, shoulders and neck.

As no two people are alike, the body massage sequence will be adapted to your own personal needs.

If there are any parts of the body you would prefer not to have massaged these can be omitted.

Massage oil, massage cream, scented body butters or talc can be used for the massage; the choice is yours.

At the end of the treatment you will be given a glass of water & left for a few minutes to recover and to dress.
