After filling in the relevant client consultation forms, I will ask you to remove your shoes and socks and I will then ask that you place your feet into warm water, wash the feet thoroughly to properly cleanse the feet and prepare you for treatment.
Once the feet are washed and dried, you will be asked to lay down and adopt a comfortable position, fully clothed, on my massage couch that allows me to reach all parts of your foot whilst I carry out the treatment.
I then place my hands gently on your abdomen, just above your navel, and ask you to take 3-6 deep breaths to relax you and allow the stresses of the day to be released. Once you are relaxed, I then move down to the bottom of the couch and anoint your feet with a lotion of your choice.
I then gently take hold of your ankle and lift your leg, supporting the knee and undertake a series of gentle muscle stretches and palm pressures to stimulate your muscles and improve your range of movement.
With your leg replaced down onto the couch I then begin the foot massage, using thumb pressure over the energy lines, massaging the sole and balls of your feet and toes, using circular thumb movements. Pressure is then applied to the six pressure points in each foot, with the pressure carefully directed to a specific nerve on the foot. Each part of the foot being linked, often distantly, to a part of the body, with the influence extending not just to the muscles but also to the vital organs as well.
I then use a gentle rocking movement to once again relax your muscles before moving on to work on the top of your foot, once again using the circular thumb movements up and over each of your toes before rotating your ankle clockwise and anticlockwise to increase the range of motion in the joint, before stretching the ankle, toes and feet by applying gentle pressure.
Finger frictions and tapping moves are then undertaken along the arch of the foot, and we finish the lower leg and foot massage with the gentle rocking movements before moving onto the hands.
I take your hand in mine and using circular thumb movements, massage the palm of the hand. Your wrist is then rotated clockwise and anticlockwise before each finger is massaged in turn. Thumb pressure is then used over the energy lines of the hand with circular frictions over the pads of the hands and fingers before the hand is stetched to complete the treatment.
I then ask you to take 3-6 deep breaths to enable you to come round after your treatment.
You can have gentle music playing in the background if you wish, to help you to relax. To book an appointment, please contact Kerry on:-
